Unlisting or changing your entry in the Page Directory
The following information will show you how to remove or modify your entry on our Personal/Business Home Page Directory. You need to have an FTP Client capable of deleting and uploading files to perform these steps.
When this document refers to your 'home directory' it refers to your user directory, which is the first location you come to upon connecting to the system via FTP. The 'home directory' is not your 'public-html' directory where your World Wide Web documents are stored.
By default a LISTME file is added to your home directory when your account is created. If you delete this file, your page's link will no longer appear in the directory listing. If you wish to become listed again after deleting this file, you will need to create an empty file (0 bytes) named LISTME (must be in all capital letters). The simplest way to do this is to create a file using Notepad, Edit, or a similar text editing program without typing any text into the document and saving it as LISTME. You can now upload this file, using your FTP Client, into your home directory. NOTE: Since the home directory pages are updated within 24 hours your changes to the LISTME may not appear immediately.
You can also change the name listed in parenthesis after your username. This file is created by default in your home directory when your account was created and will display your Full Name. To change the information after the parenthesis you will need to edit the CALLME file, either by deleting and creating a new CALLME (must be in capital letters) or editing the information contained in the file already added for you. The CALLME file must contain a single line of text up to 40 characters in length. This text is what will appear on the directory listing. NOTE: Since the home directory pages are updated within 24 hours your changes to the CALLME file may not appear immediately.
